Loaner Gear

CLUB POLICY ON OUTINGS AND RELEASE: Club outings are cooperative adventures among participants. The group is collectively responsible for the conduct of the outing, and each individual is responsible for judging his or her skill level and ability to participate and for his or her own safety. By joining the Club or participating in any Club activity, you release the Club and its officers, directors, and members, the trip coordinators, and your fellow paddlers from any and all claims and damages arising out of any bodily injury (including death) that may result from any negligent act or omission or any intentional act intended to promote your safety or well being. A parent or other responsible adult must accompany each minor on all Club trips or activities. You are respsonsible for determing if the gear is safe, appropriate, adequate, and correctly fitting for you, your skill level and intended use before borrowing and entering the water.

Club Policy and Release Regarding Borrowing Gear

You are responsible for determining if the gear is safe, appropriate, adequate, and correctly fitting for you, your skill level and intended use before borrowing and entering the water.

Helmets and PFDs are NOT available.  If you are getting into the sport you should first purchase and helmet and personal flotation device before attending any "On-Water" trips.  These are closely fitted to the user and fit is integral to their effectiveness and your safety.  These can be found at a reasonable cost and available for purchase at local stores as well as online.

Inspect all gear for damage when you pick it up.  Report damage to the person hosting the gear so it may be documented.  You are financially responsible to damage that occurs to the gear while it is in your possession.  We do not want to see people with borrowed gear performing rock splats, seal launches, boofs, dragging the gear along the ground, not securing and locking the gear when unattended.  Respecting the borrowed gear will allow us to continue loaning it without collecting a deposit.

The loaner gear exist to help people try out the sport and on the river to learn their interest before purchasing their gear.  With this in mind we want the gear to be available to as many different individuals as possible.   You may NOT borrow gear more than 4 times.  Boats are available on a first come first serve basis.  Boats are used on approved class II rivers only.   Boats are used during clinics only.   Loaner boats are not a substitute for buying yourself a boat and gear, basically you cannot borrow the boats for your entire paddling career.

Email Eric Ruhl (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) to arrange reserving and picking up loaner gear.  Be sure to include your name, phone number, which item you wish to borrow, when you would like to borrow it, and the appropriate person will call or email you within a 48 hour period.  If you do not make your request by Wednesday, it may not be gauranteed for the weekend.  Gear can only be borrowed and picked up by club members and must be returned within 24 hours (unless previously agreed upon) in the same condition it was borrowed.
